This work encapsulates the internal turmoil of queer Malay Muslims when negotiating their identity in heteronormative, Malay-Islamic spaces. Using ablution as a tangible access point, the cyclical cleansing rite captures the constant disorienting experience in one's attempt to reconcile one’s queer and religious identity.
